Practice Overview

We offer a professional and impartial planning service to the private and public sectors. We tackle large and small planning issues with the overall aim to give prompt, high quality advice and value for money.

We try to resolve planning conflicts wherever possible, usually through discussion and negotiation. Where a more robust approach is needed, we are well equipped to test the planning system through appeals and inquiries.

Our main services include:

  • Site appraisals for development; preparation of planning applications; Design & Access Statements; submission of appeals; expert witness and case co-ordination at public inquiries

  • Assistance with planning policy preparation, representations on local development framework and supplementary planning documents at the regional and local scale; appearance at examinations and inquiries

  • Enforcement and Certificate of Lawful Use/Development cases

  • Lodging objections to plans and applications; speaking at committees

  • Minerals and waste planning; Environmental Impact Assessment; nature conservation and the planning system; rural planning.

Commissions

Commissions include:

  • professional planning cover for Lincolnshire County Council

  • planning application for 50 bed extension to Sherwood Grange Care Home, Edwinstowe

  • planning advice to secure permission for two developments of 13 flats each at Radcliffe on Trent & Linby, Nottinghamshire

  • preparation of evidence and appearance for Leicestershire County Council at the Longmoor opencast coal inquiry, and for Bedfordshire County Council at the Brogborough landfill public inquiry

  • co-ordination of Environmental Statements for the Gedling Access Road; and redevelopment of the former Gedling Colliery site for 1200 houses, 5ha of employment land, and associated primary school, community facilities and landscaping.
