Consensus Planning have provided Planning Policy advice to many clients ranging from one house to 400 residential dwellings for National House Builders. We specialise in Residential applications or mixed use developments with a residential element.

We are able to approach all projects from a very commercial perspective adding value for our clients due to in-house development expertise with senior staff having worked within residential development companies.

Consensus Planning are unique in covering all the basics in the planning process and we actively involve the local community at an early state in the planning process. We have a wealth of experience in residential and mixed-use development spanning 18 years and recognise the enormous benefits that the community planning led approach can bring to developers, local planning authorities and residents alike.

By building trust with the community it identifies groups with a real interest in the proposals and actively courts their specific interests. This approach serves to:

• Generate the community’s trust in the applicant and Consensus Planning to deliver visionary planning solutions. • Preserve the underlying development value by identifying points highly valued by residents. • Accelerate the planning process.

Consensus Planning have a dedicated professional team of Town Planners who have years of experience both in the public and the private sector.

Innes Gray is the MD of Consensus Planning Limited which he set up in January 2001. In the last 6 years Innes has witnessed the benefits a community led approach can provide in accelerating the planning process and providing a ‘win-win’ solution that provides residents with true community benefits whilst preserving the underlying asset value for applicants by focusing on those points most valued by the community.
