Established in 1984, the Robert Doughty Consultancy is a multi disciplinary practice specialising in development and design planning and landscape architecture. The consultancy works for a variety of private and public sector clients throughout the East Midlands and beyond.
The Consultancy boasts not only Chartered Town Planners and Chartered Landscape Architects, but also Architectural and Planning Technicians to provide design support and added value. A strong relationship with professionally qualified specialist consultants enables projects to be managed from inception to completion.
The Consultancy is a practice registered with both the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Landscape Institute. It retains Quality Assurance approval in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2008 for Landscape and Town Planning Consultancy Services and is an Investor in People.
The Consultancy provides town planning and landscape architecture services to both the private and public sector with an emphasis on development planning, planning applications, appeals, countryside and landscape planning, and residential design.
The Consultancy is retained to act on the wide range of planning issues that includes
• The design of new development; the preparation and submission of planning applications providing a strategy for obtaining planning permission
• Dealing with planning appeals, both for the private and public sector, either by way of the administration of written representations or by appearance as expert witness at Hearings and Inquiries
• Environmental Impact Assessment, including both the carrying out of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and their appraisal
• Dealing with called in planning applications; providing strategic planning with regard to the Local Development Framework process
• Dealing with enforcement issues
The company boasts a workload that includes new housing, new employment development, waste management facilities, new schools, a wide range of intensive agricultural development as well as seasonal workers’ accommodation, polytunnels for soft fruit growers and renewable energy projects notably anaerobic digestion plants.
