Emelda Maclean has over 18 years experience practising as a chartered town planner in both the public and private sector.
Emelda graduated from Dundee University in 1990 with a Bsc(Hons) in Town and Regional Planning and gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Design in the Built Environment from The Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education in 1994.
From 1990 to 1999 Emelda worked at Warwick District Council both within the Development Control and Policy sections of the Council, before becoming a Principal Planning Assistant with Fife Council in 2000.
In 2001 Emelda joined Montgomery Forgan Associates where she became a Partner in the Practice. She subsequently founded Emac Planning in 2007.
Emelda Maclean provides specialist town planning advice on a wide range of range of planning and environmental matters for clients throughout the UK. Emelda has specific experience in the preparation of planning applications, appeals and enforcement, the preparation of environmental assessments, masterplans and development briefs and policy analysis. She has appeared as an expert witness on a number of occasions.
