Mr Steven Fidgett MRTPI MIQ  [ E-mail ]

Steven is a Chartered Town Planner and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. Having graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Town Planning Studies and a Diploma in Town Planning, he worked for a number of years on major housing, commercial and industrial projects before becoming the national planning and government affairs adviser to a prominent trade association representing a substantial proportion of the UK minerals industry.

He founded the company in 1995, and as Managing Director, developed it to its current position. Throughout this period, Steve was the retained adviser to the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) on minerals and waste planning and as such was regularly involved in national and international policy debates.

In addition to being Head of Town Planning, Steven is responsible for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) and EIA Audits for the Guildford Office.

Mr Gerald Sweeney MRICS MRTPI  [ E-mail ]

Gerald Sweeney joined Alliance Environment and Planning in June 2002 and has over nineteen years of experience advising Clients primarily in the development sector. Gerald Sweeney is responsible for the development of the Birmingham Office with particular emphasis on planning and the environment.

He is and has been responsible for a wide range of clients including public sector bodies, local authorities, and private sector clients. These include most recently Bassetlaw District Council, Black Country Reclamation Limited, Luminar Leisure Limited, Waste Recycling Group, SITA, Tarmac, Warmley Investments, Unipart, Axten Properties LLP, Railtrack Developments Limited (now Domaine).

Gerald is responible for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Strategic Environmental Asssements (SEA) and EIA Audits for the Birmingham Office.

Mr Paul Houghton BSc(Hons) LLB(Hons) MA MRTPI  [ E-mail ]

Paul Houghton joined Alliance Planning in January 2009 and has over 19 years experience in the private and public sectors in England and now in Scotland. Paul Houghton is responsible for the development of the Glasgow Office with particular emphasis on planning and the environment.

He has worked for a wide range of clients including public sector bodies, local authorities and private sector clients. Private sector clients include most recently Bellway Homes, Stirling Development Agency, Southern Cooperatives, Valad, Ogilvie Homes, Carvill and Tradstocks.

In his career Paul Houghton has obtained many planning permissions for complex sites where he had to manage large multi-disciplinary teams of consultants and assist with Environmental Impact Assessments. Paul has significant appeal experience both in the public sector when he worked as an appeals officer for a local authority and since being in consultancy.

Mr Andy Stallan MRTPI MIQ  [ E-mail ]

Andy is a Chartered Town Planner and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. He has only recently joined Alliance and is responsible for new business in the South East and Local Authority Consultancy. Prior to joining Alliance, he was Assistant Chief Planner at Surrey Heath Borough Council. He has also worked at Spelthorne and Guildford Borough Councils. During his Guildford Borough Council employment he was seconded to SEEDA.

During he period at Spelthorne he was seconded to SEEDA where he was involved with the Prince s Foundation, BRE, NHBC on specific schemes, e.g. Brighton Station and Shoreham Harbour. He also organised community consultation exercises, managed funding applications up to 0.5 million, and facilitated/encouraged land assembly and joint ventures.
